Everyone wants the ability to perform at an optimal level in all aspects of life!  Neurofeedback can help you achieve this!  Imagine if you had the ability to hack a lifetime of mediation and restore your brains natural potential!  Our brains have the capability to form and reorganize new synaptic connections; this is called neuroplasticity.  Essentially you can think of your brain as malleable, it can change!

So what is Neurofeedback, what does it do, and why should you consider giving it a try!  Neurofeedback is a technique that can restore neuroflexibilty and help achieve optimal Central Nervous System (CNS) functioning.  Susan Othmer of the EEG Institute explains,”With Neurofeedback we are enhancing awareness of internal states by allowing the brain to witness its own EEG activity.  This promotes self-regulation, which supports better function.  We are not diagnosing or treating disorders and we are not correcting brainwave patterns.  Our nervous system strives to keep us alive and functioning optimally, but we often get stuck in dysfunctional modes of behavior.  Our goal is to allow the nervous system to calm down and reset itself on a better path.”  Our brain is being trained to self-regulate, enhance flexibility and stability.  What this means is that you can calm the brain down, strengthen self-regulation, allow for space to form between your thoughts and  withhold automatic reactions and which give you time for consideration.

A few important definitions include Electroencephalography (EEG) which is the measurement of electrical patterns at the surface of the scalp which reflect cortical activity (brainwaves).  Quantitative EEG (qEEG) is the analysis of the digitized EEG, also referred to as Brain Mapping. This information can be used by experts as a clinical tool to evaluate brain function, and track changes in brain function due to various interventions.

Neurofeedback falls under the umbrella of Biofeedback, a process whereby electronic monitoring of a normally automatic bodily function is used to train someone to acquire voluntary control of that function.  First we do a brain map for you, which gives us an inside look on how your brain works and what areas need attention in order to re balance.  We then tailor a treatment just for you based on the brain map, comprehensive assessments and reported symptoms.  We don’t just treat the symptom which would only give you temporary relief.  Instead we look at the bigger picture and we treat the cause of dis-regulation in your brain that needs to be addressed.

Now all of the above information is great; but you really want to know what Neurofeedback can help you with!?  The list includes sleep issues, ADD/ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Anger & Rage, Concussion Recovery, PTSD, Sensory Integration, Low Motivation, Engery, Headaches/Migraines, and overall Peak Performance to help you succeed in everyday life!

Just like the muscles in your body, your brain needs training too!  Call today to get more information!
